There are many people without hope. The lack of hope in someone can come from many different reasons. The main reason is sin and the effects of sin. People go through things such as financial difficulty, job loss, loss of a loved one, health problems, relationship problems and addiction that can lead to their lack of hope.
There are three scriptures that I would like to share concerning this topic. The first is Jeremiah 29:11 which says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” The Lord has plans to give you hope and a future, but you have to trust Him. Read and reread this promise when you start to lose hope.
The second verse I want to share is Isaiah 40:31. It states, “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” The most important part of this verse is that we recognize where to place our hope. A lot of times when we lose hope, it’s because we have placed it in the wrong thing to begin with. Our hope should not be in other people or things but in Christ alone. And if our hope is in Him, we have a promise of strengthening and renewal.
There are many scriptures in the Bible about Hope but the last one I will share here is this, Romans 8:24-25, “For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.” You may be going through a situation where you are unable to see hope, but this passage tells us to wait patiently. Don’t give up. The hope found in the Bible is the confident expectation of what God has promised. Trust in Him to get you through whatever you are facing.
