Unconditional means without limits or conditions. That is how you are loved by God. His love is perfect. When we would say, “I love you if you love me back”, God says, “I love you whether you love me or not.” When we would say, “I love you if you choose me”, God says “I love you whether you choose me or not.” Unconditional love is unselfish. It is not dependent on how the other person feels about you, treats you or makes you feel. God loves you. Period. It doesn’t matter where you’re from. It doesn’t matter what you look like. It doesn’t matter how many mistakes you make. He loves you. Romans 5:8 says this, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ dies for us.” Really take a minute and think about that. Sin is repulsive to God and it goes against Him, and yet, He sent His son to die for us while we were still sinners. There is nothing you can do to make God stop loving you. Here is something very important you need to understand, though. God’s love does not take away our choices. He will not force us to love Him back or to choose Him. He loves you unconditionally and will do so no matter where you choose to spend eternity. Knowing all of this, my prayer for you all reading this is that you would choose the One whose love for you is Unconditional.
