Have you ever felt unequipped to do what the Lord has asked of you? I have. I have often thought, “Lord, there must be someone more qualified than me for this task.” I realize that this thought comes from my own vanity and worrying what others will think of my efforts and abilities. Exodus 4: 10-13, reads, “Moses said to the Lord, ‘Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent. I am slow of speech and tongue.’ The Lord said to him, ‘Who gave human beings their mouths? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.’” God used Moses to lead his people out of Egypt and in to the Promised Land but Moses was hesitant because he felt unqualified. God does not call us based on our abilities. He simply desires our willingness to allow Him to do His work through us. He does not want us to carry out tasks as a way to boost our own egos. Instead, he wants to work through us so that all will know that it is He who did the work.
