Song of Solomon 2:11-13 says, “For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. The fig tree puts forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grapes give a good smell.”
With spring comes new life. It is the season of new beginnings. The trees grow new leaves. The flowers bloom in beautiful colors and fill the air with sweet smells. You can hear the birds singing. It’s a time that awakens the senses.
Through Jesus Christ, God has brought us the gift of salvation. This gift is described throughout the Bible as new life. 2 Corinthians 5:17 states, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
So, how do you receive this new life? First, you must repent of your sin and place your faith in Christ. New life can only come through Jesus. It is not anything that we can do on our own. He is THE way to God, the Father. He wants to have a relationship with you. He wants you to put away the old you and allow Him to make you into a new creation. Then you can then grow in relationship with Him through reading His word, the Bible, and through prayer. What better time than now to spring to life!
