Everyone has to go through disappointment. Sometimes disappointment affects us more than others. You may not have gotten the job you really wanted, you didn’t get into a certain college, or the house you put an offer on was sold to someone else. It is impossible to avoid that feeling of frustration when we are let down.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.” As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9.
Reading this verse gave me some insight. We are busy worrying about our small disappointments, when God sees the bigger picture and has completely different thoughts on the matter. Of course, it is easier said than done. But instead of letting a frustration overwhelm you, think of it in God’s perspective. Our time on earth is so very quick. One day we will walk with God in Heaven and will realize why the things on earth happened.
That job, house, or college that didn’t work out is just a small bump in the road. Pick yourself up and keep trying. Pray for God’s guidance and you will find it in time.
