All we who are believers are blessed in different ways. How wonderful would it be, then, if we all looked for ways to use our specific blessings to turn around and bless others? What better way could there be to show the love of God? We should do this not to receive praise or to esteem ourselves but to bring honor and glory to the Father. Philippians 2:3-4 says, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others."

What better season to be a blessing than the Christmas season? As a body of believers, let’s take the time to seek out those who may be less fortunate than ourselves and show them, through our actions, that God loves them. Just a few ways to consider are:

  1. Visit with someone in a nursing home.
  2. Volunteer at a soup kitchen.
  3. Bake something to take to someone going through a hard time.
  4. Buy a Christmas present for someone you think might not get one.
  5. Invite someone to church and sit with them.

It might seem like something very simple, but it might mean the world to someone.  I hope that this will be a challenge for all of us, and I think that we will get the greatest blessing from it.
